The Impact of Fellowship

for blog

There is an old saying, “A person is known by the company he keeps”. The time that we spend with people plays very vital role in our life because it is the thoughts that we eat by being with those people. If we spend time with honest people then honesty automatically start generating in us but if we choose to spend time with dishonest person then we also get the seed of it too.

What we say?

What we hear?

What we read?

They will be revealed in coming time because now they are little babies.

Words that we listen, speak, read and write, they are the potential events of our lives. So be careful what you utter. When a person does fellowship with good, positive, kind-hearted people, he is developing that same character too.

Apostle Paul knew it very well, he knew how it works, how much words influence the character. He specifically mentioned about it.

1Co:15:33: Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

He said, “Evil COMMUNICATIONS” such type of conversation only being done in fellowship whether with single or in a group.

We have to be very conscious about the communications that we have if it is not about good things then don’t participate in the conversation.

You can notice the impact of fellowship in the following story that is written in Bible.

There was a garden of Aden in which a couple Adam and Eve lived together, they did fellowship with each as well as with God too. They were very happy, the only rule that they had to follow was not to eat from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. It was very simple commandment, they followed it. As the story goes on, a beast came and started talking with Eve, the beast asked,’’ Do ye eat the fruits of all tree”. “Yes, but except the one which is in the middle of garden because Lord said, if we eat the fruit of it then we will die”, Eve said. But serpent replied and said, “Ye shall not die”. Then woman ate and she also offered the fruit of that tree to her husband, he also tasted the fruit. Afterward something happened; they got the knowledge of being right and wrong (evil and good) and death started ruling on humanity. You can find the conversation that happened between Lord, Adam and Eve, where Adam mentioned, he did nothing but Eve led her to do, then Eve said, it was serpent who led her to do it. Here they were stating being right and other was wrong, they were blaming each other for doing it though they were clearly told not to eat that.

What happened?

Why did they ate that forbidden fruit?

Everything was going well, they had lovely garden, every necessity was available over there, why did they broke the commandment?

Who was responsible for bringing this chaos in this world, it was the fellowship that human did with beast and they were behaving like beast afterward, Solomon came and mentioned clearly with the wisdom of God that he received from Lord, ” man is not better than beast” because he is still doing fellowship with beast, the beastly nature is living inside the human body and trying to showing it is human nature who is responsible bringing chaos in this world. Therefore Lord said,

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them. ( John: 12:35-36)

It was listening other mind, the mind which was beastly mind, who led them to broke the commandment of God, there are beasts in the world now, they are hiding behind the veil of flesh, Bible calls them wolves. Eve did fellowship with contaminated mind (spoil), it first infected the purity of  the mind of Eve and then she touched the man and he also got this infected knowledge.

If Eve did not have fellowship with beast/serpent then the world might look different now.

Though man chose to fellowship with beast but God did not leave man alone, He always was there to help them, He was chasing man to reconcile with Him again, One day there was man whose name was Moses he came and When He did fellowship with God, then A great thing happened. He visited the Mount Sinai and spent time with great light (God) then what did he got? He got the reflection of light on his skin, he started shinning, people thought Moses turned into demigod because he was shinning.

And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with HIM. (Ex:34:29: )

The question is how a simple living person got such reflection on his face?

The answer is very simple it was fellowship that he did with Great Light.

If ye fellowship with light then ye will be son of Light but if ye fellowship with darkness then ye already are in that.

Joh:12:36: While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Beware with whom you fellowship because it is what you are going to be.

Very nicely said. People need to discern not only the moral character of those with whom they fellowship, but also the character of entertainment, news, political leaders, and religious leaders.
